Product Care & FAQ

Product Care & Frequently Asked Questions

At The Butter Babe, we believe that caring for your skincare products is just as important as enjoying them! Here are a few helpful tips to keep your handcrafted products in the best possible condition.

How should I store my products?

To keep your products in the best possible condition, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Always close containers tightly after use, and avoid leaving products in hot cars.

Why has my body butter melted, separated, or lost its fluffiness?

Our whipped body butters are handcrafted with natural plant butters and nourishing oils. Because of their ingredients, they can soften or melt when exposed to warm temperatures.

Heat may cause the butter to lose its fluffy, whipped texture or develop an oily layer. When it cools, the texture may become firmer or slightly grainy.

These changes do not automatically mean the product has spoiled, but appearance alone cannot determine whether a product is safe to use.

Can I still use my body butter after it melts?

If your body butter has melted due to heat, allow it to cool completely before assessing its condition.

Melting alone does not necessarily mean the product is spoiled. However, if you notice an unusual odor, discoloration, unexpected texture, or signs of contamination, discontinue use and contact us.

If your product arrives melted or you are unsure about its condition, please contact us before using it.

How can I help my body butter firm up again?

Place the tightly closed jar in a cool, dry location and allow the butter to firm up naturally.

Please remember that once a whipped body butter melts, its original fluffy texture and volume may not return. Do not add water or other ingredients to the product.

If your butter remains separated or you have concerns about its condition, please contact us.

How should I scoop products from a jar?

We recommend using a clean, dry spoon or spatula when removing products from their containers.

Avoid introducing water or using wet fingers, as this can increase the risk of contamination. Always close the lid securely after each use.

How should I care for my whipped sugar scrubs?

Our whipped sugar scrubs are designed to gently exfoliate while cleansing and leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth.

For the best experience, use a clean, dry spoon or spatula to remove the amount you need before stepping into the shower.

Avoid allowing water to enter the jar, and always close the lid tightly after use. Keeping excess moisture out helps reduce the risk of contamination and maintain the product's quality.

Does the same care advice apply to every product?

Not necessarily! Each product from The Butter Babe is thoughtfully formulated with its own ingredients and intended use.

Cool, dry storage and clean handling are good general practices, but the melting and texture guidance above applies specifically to our body butters.

Our facial moisturizers, body oils, sugar scrubs, cleansers, and other products may have different care requirements. If you have questions about caring for a particular product, please contact us.

When should I contact The Butter Babe?

We want you to feel confident about the products you receive!

  • Arrives melted, leaking, or damaged.

  • Remains separated after cooling.

  • Develops an unusual odor or appearance.

  • Has a texture or condition you're unsure about.
