Sugar Scubs or Body Polishes

How to Use a Sugar Scrub or Body Polish Without Overdoing It
There’s something about freshly exfoliated skin that just feels good—smooth, soft, and refreshed. But when it comes to exfoliating, more is not always better.
At The Butter Babe, you'll find both Whipped Sugar Scrubs and Body Polishes, and there's an important difference between the two.
What's Different About My Body Polishes?
My Body Polishes contain a bath butter cleansing base, so they're designed to cleanse and exfoliate your skin at the same time.
As you massage the polish onto wet skin, the sugar provides gentle physical exfoliation while the bath butter creates a creamy cleansing lather.
That means you're getting two steps in one:
Cleanse + Exfoliate
It's one of the reasons I call them body polishes—they're more than just sugar and oil in a jar.
What About My Whipped Sugar Scrubs?
My Whipped Sugar Scrubs focus on exfoliation while the oils in the formula help leave your skin feeling soft and conditioned.
Both have a place in your body-care routine. The difference is whether you want a traditional oil-based exfoliating scrub or the creamy cleansing and exfoliating experience of a Body Polish.
How Often Should You Exfoliate?
For most people, once or twice a week is a good place to start.
Your skin doesn't need aggressive scrubbing every day. Over-exfoliating can leave it feeling sensitive or irritated.
Always pay attention to your skin and adjust your routine accordingly.
Let the Sugar Do the Work
Use your scrub or body polish on wet skin.
Take a small amount and gently massage it over your body using circular motions. There's no need to press hard.
Let the sugar do the exfoliating.
If you're using one of my Body Polishes, you'll also notice that creamy cleansing lather from the bath butter as you massage it into your skin.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Give Dry Areas a Little Extra Attention
Elbows, knees, legs, hands and feet are areas where many of us notice roughness or dryness.
You can spend a little extra time on those areas, but still be gentle.
Avoid exfoliating broken, irritated, freshly shaved or sunburned skin.
And remember: body scrubs and body polishes are made for the body, not the face.
Finish With Body Butter
After rinsing, gently pat your skin with a towel—but don't completely dry it.
Leave your skin slightly damp and follow with your favorite Butter Babe Body Butter.
It's a simple routine:
Cleanse & Exfoliate → Rinse → Pat Damp → Moisturize
You don't need a complicated routine to give your skin some love. Sometimes a few good products used the right way are all you need.
And remember...
Butter is always better.™
